Hello Menlo Parents, 

We're back again - Justin and Jilynnette!

Tonight marks the end of our unforgettable journey. It has been a long and eventful day, so we decided to give bloggers a break. We traveled from Cahuíta on the Caribbean coast back to San José, navigating through heavy traffic and finally arriving around 7:00 PM. The group has been sharing all the things they want to do when they are back. Get ready, they have a lot planned! 

Once at the hotel, and after a brief rest, we gathered one last time as a group to reflect on the highlights of our trip, discuss the lessons we plan to carry with us back to California, and share the experiences we hope to leave behind. Our final dinner together was filled with laughter and nostalgia, and now everyone is in their rooms, preparing for an early departure in just a few hours.

As we bid farewell to this incredible adventure, we all feel a mix of bittersweet emotions. We're sad to see it end, but eager to share with you all the wonderful stories and cherished memories we've collected along the way.

Sat 08 June Los Angeles (LAX) - San Francisco (SFO) UA 2234 02:00 PM - 03:35 PM Economy

The flights are currently on time, scheduled to arrive at SFO on Saturday at  3:35 PM, but you might want to check the flight status for updates closer to the group's arrival. As the group is going through customs at LAX, they will arrive at United Airlines, domestic, Terminal 3.  Please be there to meet them and to take them home.

Welcome to almost Costa Rica! We are all so excited to jumpstart this adventure but, of course, also a bit nervous about some things at the same time. Today, we discussed everything from our poop consistency to our fears about the upcoming three weeks. Our group, from different grades and friend groups, began bonding and we are excited to start forming close relationships with one another.  We split into groups by our birthdays, made handshakes, and took awkward holiday card photos. We also chose songs that reflect our feelings about the upcoming trip, including "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley, "Time of Our Lives" by Pitbull, and "La Bamba" by Ritchie Valens. Additionally, we celebrated the birthdays of Lily Nye and Matias Estay by singing a not-so-great rendition of "Happy Birthday."  Now, we are off to packing and panicking about potential items we may have left behind. ¡Estamos en Pura Vida!

After a long day of travel filled with delays, layovers, and attempts at sleep, we have finally arrived in Costa Rica! Boarding the bus to Chilamate, we surrendered our phones, ready to embark on our adventure. The anticipation for a satisfying first meal at Riverside Pizzeria was palpable; sandwiches and pizza provided a welcome break during the three-hour bus ride filled with song games and lively chatter. Upon arrival in Chilamate, we were all eager to have reached our destination for the day (and to finally take a shower).
